Elgin, Ill.- For the first time this season, a Judson University women’s basketball player has been named the NCCAA National Player of the Week. Sophomore Alicia Rovertoni was given the award for her performance vs. Trinity International and Calumet College. It is the fifth time this season that Judson athletic has had a NCCAA National Player of the Week.

Rovertoni, from Columbia, Illinois, averaged 20.5 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game. She also recorded her 8th double-double of the season vs. TIU with 12 rebounds and a career-high 24 points. In a key win over TIU, she had key shots the entire game and at one point scored seven straight points for Judson.

She helped spark a come-from-behind win over TIU as Judson was down 14 points in the second half. JU went on a 21-6 run over eight minutes and she had eight of the 21 points. In the win over Calumet, she had four assists and no turnovers.

JU is currently tied for second with TIU in the CCAC at 6-3 and are 11-14 overall. They will play their final CCAC game of the year on Wednesday, February 20th, at 5:30 p.m. against Trinity Christian and then have Senior Day on Saturday, February 23rd, vs. Indiana-South Bend in the Lindner Fitness Center at 7:00 p.m.
