
Elgin, IL – Cruising to a 30-point victory, Judson University (11-14/6-3) won their sixth CCAC game of the year with an 80-50 win over Calumet College. Four Judson players scored in double figures.
Alicia Rovertoni had 17 points as the leading scorer but Devonaye Henderson had her third double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Both Heidi Rosenbaum and Theresa Larson recorded 13 points. CC’s Lecreia Hudson led all scorers with 24 points.
Judson’s defense took over in the first half as CC did not hit double digits until the 3:52 mark. Both teams struggled offensively as Judson did not hit the double-digit mark until their was 10 minutes left in the half. With 9:51 left in the half, CC still only had two points. CC’s Hudson broke the seven minute scoring deficit with a three-pointer to make it 14-5 (9:31). It was not until the 3:52 mark that CC scored their 11th point of the game on Hudson’s second three-pointer of the game. JU had a 20-point lead five different times and was up by 23, 40-17, at the 1:04 mark.
With 10:50 left in the game, JU took a 32-point lead on a three-pointer by Rosenbaum. JU took their largest lead of 36 points, 80-44, with 1:56 remaining the game. CC nailed two three-pointers to end the game and bring the final to 80-50.
Overall, JU forced 23 turnovers and had 14 steals while out rebounding CC, 44-29. They held CC to just 34% shooting from the floor. JU finished shooting 48% and made 37% from the free throw line.
JU will travel to Trinity Christian on Wednesday for their final CCAC game of the year at 5:30 p.m.
