
Whiting, Ind. – Alicia Rovertoni’s 6th double-double of the year helped Judson University (9-14/4-3) to a 74-61 win over host Purdue-Calumet (6-21/2-5). Judson had a 15-point lead at the half, 41-26.
Rovertoni, who leads the CCAC in rebounding, had 10 rebounds and led all scorers with 18 points. Theresa Larson also had 18 points and Kirstin Johns netted 11. Kelly Friestad fell just one point and two rebounds away from a double-double with nine points and eight rebounds. Shannon Dugan recorded 17 points and 10 rebounds for PC.
Judson shot 52% in the first half en route to a 15-point lead at the half, 41-26. They nailed two three-pointers from Friestad and Johns. They also made one-of-two free throws.
PC outscored Judson in the second half, 35-33, but the Eagles held on for the victory. JU made 73% from the foul line going 11-of-15.
Overall, JU finished shooting 44% from the floor, 70% from the stripe, and 22% from the three-point line. PC made 33% from the floor and 70% from the foul line. PC had 17 turnovers and Judson recorded nine steals. JU also out rebounded PC, 29-21.
Judson will host Trinity International on Wednesday, February 13th, at 5:30 p.m. in CCAC play.
