GENEVA, Ohio – Competing amongst the best in the NAIA at the 2012 NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships, Judson University stayed with its competition exceeding their seedings. Judson participated in three events at the national meet.
Sarah Dede led the way competing in two events in the long jump and triple jump. Seeded 20th in the long jump, Dede finished 18th out of 22 competitors. Her best leap was 16'6.75." She the was 12th in the triple jump out of 18 jumpers at 35'11.25".
The Distance Medley Relay team, made up of Gabby Nystrom, Sarah Miller, Kristal Pitts, and Marilyn McDougall, ran a 12:40.94 to finish in 17th place out of 30 schools and broke the program record. It was the first time for Nystrom, Miller, and McDougall to all run at a NAIA National Meet. Kristal Pitts ran at the 2011 NAIA National Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
