Elgin, Ill.- Career-highs and a new winning streak was set at the Lindner Fitness Center as Judson University (14-6/7-0) rolled to a 98-86 win over Purdue-North Central (4-20/0-7). Judson has now won seven games in a row which is a new single season record for consecutive wins.

Dewayne Robinson and Justen Boyd also had career nights for the Eagles. Robinson set a personal best for points making 34 as he shot 9-of-14 from the floor and 13-of-15 from the free throw line. He was also one rebound shy of a double-double. Boyd, on the other hand, had a double-double with 13 points and a career-high 13 assists. Chris Oates had 18 points and Steffan Williams added 15 points. Terry Polk scored 30 points for PNC.

Judson had as large as a 21-point lead in the second half but PNC did not go away easily. JU took a 21-point lead, their largest of the game, on an Oates three-pointer at the 16:50 mark. JU easily kept their distance and did not let PNC get close. PNC brought JU’s lead down to 15, 57-42 (15:07), but JU went back up by 21 with 12:04 left in the game, 68-47 (12:04).

Once again, PNC tried to push JU but could not budge the Eagles. The Panthers were within 15, again, 74-59, with 8:22 left only to see JU go back up by 21 for the third time in the half, 86-65, with 5:03 remaining.

With that commanding lead, 86-65, PNC pushed JU until the end and finished the game on a 21-12 run to come within 12 points. In the run, PNC had JU’s lead down to nine, 90-81, with 1:03 remaining. From that point, JU went six-of-six from the foul line and made a lay up to conserve their lead.

In the first half, PNC had a 7-2 lead in the first four minutes of the game. Robinson then took over as he scored the next 10 points on a 10-4 run to take a 12-11 lead. Robinson started the run with a three-pointer at the 16:05 mark followed by a three-point play at 15:45 to tie the game at eight. With 13:09 on the clock, he flushed down a dunk on a fast break to give JU their first lead of the game, 10-9. He then finished the run with two free throws at the 12:29 mark for a one-point advantage, 12-11.

Both teams exchanged baskets in the next two minutes to swap the lead as PNC had a one-point lead, 15-14, with 11:05 left in the half. An Oates lay up to take a one-point lead sparked a JU 9-0 run in the next minute and a half as the Eagles took over the game with an eight-point lead, 23-15. JU never gave up the lead again.

PNC cut the eight-point lead to three, 24-21, but JU outscored the Panthers, 20-9, in the final 7:35 to claim a 14-point halftime lead, 44-30.

Overall, Judson shot 54% from the floor, 32% from the three-point line, and 76% from the stripe. PNC finished at 45% from the floor and made only 11% from beyond the arc. PNC also out rebounded JU, 38-36.
