ELGIN, Ill. – Purdue University-Calumet finished the final 2:09 on an 11-1 run as they took the CCAC win over Judson University, 71-62.  Judson had a one-point advantage, 61-60, with just over two minutes to play when Purdue-Calumet finished on their run.  Purdue-Calumet mad 13 three-pointers and shot 53% from beyond the arc in the second half while Judson had only one three-pointer make it through the hoop all night.

Judson was led by Josh Edwards' (Mapleton, Ill.) 16 points while Caleb Sutton (Lincoln, Ill.) produced his 10thdouble-double of the year with 13 points and 10 rebounds.  He now has had three double-doubles in the past four games.  Landon Skinner (Plano, Texas) added 11 points and four assists.  Purdue-Calumet's Drew Ridlen led all scorers with 23 points hitting five three-pointers.

At the 2:09 mark, Sutton made a layup to put Judson in front, 62-61.  Just 25 seconds later, Purdue-Calumet started their 11-1 run for the win.  With 1:44 left, Purdue-Calumet's Ridlen hit a jumper for the one-point lead and then neither team hit a bucket for the next 1:10.  Ridlen gave Purdue-Calumet a four-point lead with a three-pointer, 65-61, to end the scoring drought.  Skinner was fouled eight seconds later and he made 1-of-2 free throws to put Judson within three, 65-62.  Judson never scored again.  Purdue-Calumet went 6-of-7 from the foul line in the final 26 seconds to seal the win.  After a double technical called on Judson with eight seconds left, Ridlen hit four straight free throws to put Purdue-Calumet up by nine, 71-62.

Judson opened the second half on an 11-6 run to take a two-point lead, 39-37, at the 14:23 mark.  After being down 31-28 at the half, Judson made their moves to take over the game.  At the 14:23 mark, Skinner converted a three-point play to give Judson a two-point lead, 39-37.  Purdue-Calumet scored the next six points to move back in front, 43-39.  By the 9:05 mark, Judson was down five points, 51-46, when they went on an 11-2 run for four-point lead, 57-53. Adam Hodge (South Elgin, Ill.) had six of the 11 points and moved Judson ahead, 55-53, at the 6:05 mark.  Judson kept a one-point lead, 57-56 and 61-60, before Purdue-Calumet made their run for the win.

Starting the game off slow, Judson did not hit double figures until the 8:32 mark to put themselves within 10 points, 20-10.  Purdue-Calumet raced out to a 10-point lead, 14-4, in the first four minutes of the game and had a 12-point lead, 20-8, with 10:21 left.  In the final 8:08 of the half, Judson went on a 15-7 run to come within three, 31-28, at the half.  Edwards scored six of his 16 points in that run.

Cold three-point shooting was the difference as Judson shot just 11% from beyond the arc and 48% overall. They also made only 65% of their free throws while turning the ball over 15 times.  Purdue-Calumet shot only 37% from the floor but made 43% of their three-point shots and mad 12-of-15 from the stripe (80%).
