
Wisconsin-Eau Claire 81, Judson 64
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – Despite scoring the same amount of points as the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (7-4) in the second half it was the first half that was the difference in the UWisconsin-Eeu Claire Tournament in an 81-64 loss for Judson University (3-12). Judson scored 44 points in the second half and shot 44% overall for the game.
Landon Skinner and Caleb Sutton led Judson with a double-doubles as Skinner had 18 points and 10 rebounds and Sutton provided 14 points and 10 rebounds. Nick Morgan finished with 11 points and Josh Edwards had 10 points. Dustin Kalien and James Pfitznger had 18 points for Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Opening up the game with a 4-0 run, Edwards and Skinner both had buckets for Judson. Judson kept their four-point lead, 6-2, on a Sutton layup at the 15:44 mark. At the 11:24 mark, Morgan gave Judson a two-point lead, 11-9, after a nine all tie. In the next nine minutes, Wisconsin-Eau Claire outscored Judson, 23-9, for a 16-point lead, 34-18. At the half, Wisconsin-Eau Claire had a 17-point lead, 37-30.
The second half brought more of an even game as Judson and Wisconsin-Eau Claire each scored 44 points.
Judson finished shooting 44% overall and made 35% of their three-point shots and 80% from the foul line. Wisconsin-Eau Claire shot 45% from the floor, 31% from beyond the arc and 66% from the stripe. Judson out rebounded Wisconsin-Eau Claire, 33-32, and had 15 turnovers while forcing eight turnovers.
Judson will now face Bethany Lutheran in the consolation game of the Wisconsin-Eau Claire Holiday Tournament.
