
Elgin, Ill.- For the fifth time this season and in back-to-back weeks, a Judson University women’s basketball player has been named the CCAC Player of the Week. Sophomore Alicia Rovertoni (Columbia, Ill.) has received the award for her play against Purdue-Calumet and Trinity International.
Rovertoni averaged 16.0 points and 11.5 rebounds in her two games played against PUC and TIU. On January 16th, in an 81-61 victory over Purdue University Calumet (Ind.), She had 19 points, 11 rebounds, three assists with two blocks.
She then notched her fifth double-double of the season on January 19th when she registered 13 points and 12 rebounds in a 68-61 loss to conference frontrunner Trinity International University.
In those two games, she shot 56.5 percent from the field (13-of-23) and grabbed a total of 23 rebounds keeping her distance as the top CCAC rebounder. In CCAC games only, she is averaging 10.0 rebounds per game.
She joins Kelly Friestad, Kirstin Johns, Devonaye Henderson, Marissa Marshall as CCAC Players of the Week for Judson.
JU is currently 6-12 on the year and 1-2 in the CCAC. They travel to Whiting, Indiana, on Wednesday, January 19th, to face Calumet College and then host Trinity Christian on Saturday, January 23rd at 5:30 p.m.
