ELGIN, Ill. - Caleb Sutton became the first track athlete to earn a national award at the NCCAA National Outdoor Track and Field Meet as he was named the NCCAA Wheeler Award recipient. This is the highest award you can earn from the NCCAA in track and field.
Sutton earned the Wheeler Award for character, service, and academics at Judson University. At Judson, he is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes leadership group, has helped with community service at local elementary schools and with Riverworks, spoke in chapel, and held a concert in chapel. He has a strong character presence in both the track and men's basketball programs and carries just under a 3.0 G.P.A.
Sutton currently has the highest high jump in the NAIA at 7'0" and won the CCAC Championships. He holds the program records in the high, long jump, and triple jump, and has been named the CCAC Athlete of the Week four times.
Judson has only been awarded national NCCAA awards in men's soccer as they have produced five NCCAA National Players of the Year.
