MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. - Sweeping their second CCAC series of the season, Judson University took two games from Purdue University-North Central, 4-2, and 7-1. Judson is now 5-1 in the CCAC and 14-7 overall.

Sam Gladen (6-2) and Katie Talbot (4-1) both received the wins for Judson. Emily England had two triples for Judson to lead at the plate while Nicole Dimiceli had three hits for two RBI.

Game 1
Judson 4, Purdue-North Central 2

Gladen went the complete game to earn her sixth win of the year with five strikeouts and no walks as Judson took game one, 4-2. England had two hits for Judson as Carrie Sensor and Gladen both had a RBI.

After three scoreless innings, Judson scored the first run of the game in the top of the fourth inning. England started off the inning with a triple and then three batters later Gladen brought her in with a ground out. Judson added three more runs in the top of the sixth to make it 4-0. Sensor, the fourth batter of the inning, hit into a fielder's choice that scored Dimiceli. A Purdue-North Central error with Gladen batting let Sensor come in from second base for the second run of the inning. The second error of the inning two batters later allowed Gladen to score for the 4-0 lead.

Purdue-North Central cut the lead to two, 4-2, in the bottom of the inning but could get no closer as Judson won their 13th game of the year.

Game 2
Judson 7, Purdue-North Central 1

Judson scored five runs in the third and fourth innings for a 5-0 lead as they went onto a six-run win, 7-1. Talbot went seven innings for her fourth win on the year while striking out five with no earned runs. Dimiceli went 3-of-4 with two RBI and Gladen added two hits. Sam Deckard had one hit for two RBI while Concetta Lampugnano, England, and Stankus had one RBI.

In the third inning, Dimiceli picked up her first RBI with a single down the right field line to score Lampugnano. England followed with her second triple of the day as Dimiceli came in to make it 2-0. In the fourth inning, Deckard doubled for two RBI for a four-run lead as both Stankus and Brittany Holm scored. Lampugnano then brought in the final run of the inning for the 5-0 lead.


Purdue-North Central received their only run in the fourth inning and then Judson added one run in the sixth and seventh inning for a 7-1 lead. Dimiceli singled in the run in the sixth while Stankus had a sacrifice fly in the seventh to complete the scoring.

Judson will travel to Joliet, Ill., for the University of St. Francis tournament this weekend.
