Elgin, Ill. – A 21-4 run in the first half spurred the Judson University Eagles (4-3) ahead of the Indiana University-Northwest Redhawks (1-7) and to a 90-62 win. JU now advances to the Judson Tournament Championship to face Davenport University.

Down 18-10 with 12:48 left in the first half, JU woke up the offense with a 21-4 run over the next six minutes to make it 31-22. JU slowly ate away at the lead with different players scoring in the run. With 8:32 left, JU was trailing by one, 20-19, when Ilija Bojanic nailed a three-pointer to give JU a 2-point lead, 22-20. IUN never saw the lead again. By the 2:25 mark, JU was up by 16 when DeWayne Robinson made a layup. JU had as large as an 18-point lead, 48-30, just before the half but IUN hit a shot just before the buzzer went off.

For the seventh straight game this season, Robinson scored over 20 points with 27 to lead all scorers. He also led the team in rebounding with nine. All of the players that were on the bench dressed scored in the game. Bojanic added 17 points as the only other double-digit scorer for Judson. Justen Boyd added nine points with seven assists and Andrew Ream had nine points with eight rebounds. Both Brad Smith and Pete Trgovich had 13 for IUN.

JU made it a 20-point game in the first two minutes of the second half on a Boyd layup. The lead stayed in the 20’s until IUN cut the lead to 17 with 11:38 to go in the game. The Redhawks had JU’s lead down to 14, 70-56, with 9:06 remaining but Judson went on a 13-1 run over the next four minutes to put the game away. JU took their largest lead of 31, 90-59, with 00:51 left in the game on a Steffan Williams three-pointer.

JU shot 47% overall in the game while IUN finished at 33%. JU out rebounded IUN, 52-41, and forced 15 turnovers with 12 steals.

Judson will now play Davenport University in the Judson Tournament Championship game at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
