
LA CROSSE, Wisc. - Hitting the road with a rough loss, the Judson University women's basketball team opened up with their first road test of the year by falling to Viterbo University, 68-40. Viterbo led from the opening bucket and had a 20-point lead at the half.
ShaRhonda Huff led Judson with 11 points as the lone player scoring in double figures. Daisy Jara grabbed 11 rebounds for Judson. The finished shooting just 23% from the floor and did not make a single three-point shot (0-of-16). Judson was also out rebounded, 60-38. Judson did force 25 turnovers and had 12 steals.
Judson was within eight, 13-5, with just over 13 minutes left in the first half on a Bethany Zuleger shot but Viterbo did not let Judson get any closer. Viterbo finished the half on a 24-12 run for the 20-point lead at the half.
Judson will now face Briar Cliff at 1:00 p.m. in the third place game of the Viterbo University Tournament. Judson is now 0-2 on the year.
