
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Competing at one of the toughest meets of the year at the NAIA Great Lakes Regional Meet held by Aquinas College, both of the Judson University men's and women's cross country teams had personal bests. The men finished 23rd of 31 teams with two personal bests while the women were 16th of 25 teams as the entire team had personal best.
Nate Nevius and Andy Anderson both ran personal best in the 8K run as Nevius was Judson's top runner. He finished 96th overall out of over 300 runners with a time of 26:49. Anderson was Judson's fifth runner and came in 212th with a time of 29:04. Following Nevius was Robert Altenberger in 151st with a 27:46 time. Tim Ciochon followed in 186th (28:20) and Kyle Julian in 195th (28:36) to round out the top five. Matt DeBall crossed in 225th place (29:17) while Ethan Hahn was 263rd (30:30) and Bisrat Kidane in 308th (35:21).
Providing personal bests for every runner on the team, Judson finished 16th of 25 teams. Kim Peek was the top runner in 49th place out of 271 runners in the 5K with a time of 19:34. Meaghan Gard was right behind in 67th place (19:52) and Kristal Pitts finished out the top 100 runners in 88th place (20:10). Morgan Kimball crossed the line in 114th place (20:36) as Dianna Clark was 162nd (21:29), Stephanie Belokon was 173rd (21:43), and Cassie Criminger came in 182nd (21:51).
Judson will run next in the CCAC Championships on November 6th as the host school at the course on the campus of Elgin Community College.
