ELGIN, IL. - Freshman Gustavo Scorzelli (Brazil) scored in the 119th minute of the match to give Judson University (2-0) the 2-1 win over #21 McKendree University (1-1). Scorzelli's penalty kick was set up with a yellow card in the box for his first collegiate goal. With the win Judson improves to 2-0 on the season.

Judson's penalty kick was set up after McKendree goalkeeper, Joe Sagar was given his second yellow card of the match and was then handed an automatic red card. McKendree University went with Tim Day a backup goalkeeper to try and stop Scorzelli's shot cold. The two teams combined had nine yellow cards and one red card.

The second period featured both teams connecting on goals. McKendree Rico Frazier scored off the breakaway pass from teammate Perry Hughes right into the middle of the net in the 57th minute. Judson's Rafa Heck (Brazil) scored off a free kick which ended up in the bottom left corner of the goal in the games 74th minute. Judson outshot McKendree 7-6.

Senior goalkeeper Alex Tyton (Elgin, IL) was nearly perfect in the match with three key saves to help secure the win. Tyton deflected a shot on goal in the final 10 minutes of the second period to keep the game tied at one.

Judson University will play next on Friday, September 3rd in the Mount Vernon Nazarene University Invitational against Spring Arbor University.
