ELGIN, Ill. - Creating a new atmosphere on campus with lacrosse, the Judson University lacrosse coaches will be having an awareness day on Saturday, August 28th, at Dawson Field. The event will take place at 12:30 p.m. before the Judson University men's soccer teams game at 3:30 p.m.
The awareness day will also be a recruiting day for the Judson University male students on campus that are wondering about the new sport on campus. This opportunity will be for the males on campus to play some lacrosse and see if they would like to join the new team.
The day starts at 12:30 p.m. with a barbeque lunch followed by a lacrosse instruction at 1:15 p.m. The coaches then ask for everybody to stick around and cheer for the men's soccer team as they play McKendree University.
The Judson lacrosse team is in their first year under head coach A.J. Collier. Collier has played collegiately at Northern Illinois University and has helped both professional lacrosse teams in Chicago. He has been coaching the past eight years at St. Viator where he started the program before coming to Judson.
