ELGIN, Ill. - Four players have decided to continue their softball careers at Judson University under coach Becky Stenning. Emily England (Atlanta, IL/Illinois Central College), Kaleigh Velasquez (Marengo, IL/Marengo HS), Amanda Hart (Marengo, IL/Marengo HS), and Andrea Marie Herin (Chadwick, IL/Milledgeville HS) will all be Eagles in 2010-11.

Judson is coming off one of their finest seasons after winning a program best 31 games and competing in their third ever NCCAA World Series. They also broke numerous team and individual records.

Illinois Central College: Played two years for Heather Doty at second base and shortstop…team was a top 12 in the nation.

Olympia HS: Earned two letters under coach Al Tollver…voted twice to All-State team…was All-State second team in 2007 and on the third team in 2008…three-time Cornbelt All-Conference…two-time first-team selection all-Conference…made the Washington Tournament All-Tournament team twice…helped team to four conference championships…team made two State Tournaments and finished second in 2008…member of the National Honor Society and Key Club…daughter of Marty and Linda England…born on March 22, 1990.

Won three letters for Dwain Nance at the catcher position…team was regional champions in 2009, sectional champions in 2007, and finished fourth in the state in 2008…was given the National Career Readiness Silver Certificate…is the daughter of Rolando and Deanne Velasquez…born on February 6, 1992…will major in occupational therapy.

Earned seven letters in softball, basketball, volleyball, and cross country…played for coach Dwain Nance…named All-Area second team in softball… team was regional champions in 2009, sectional champions in 2007, and finished fourth in the state in 2008…in basketball was a Illinois State Class 3A qualifier in the three-point competition…nominated to Illinois All-State Academic team…member of the National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Math Team, and Prom/Homecoming committee…daughter of Jeff and Maureen Hart…born on May 27, 1992…will major in secondary education.

Won a combined 11 letters in volleyball, basketball, and softball…two-time all-Conference…was a unanimous selection for the first-team in senior season…given team best defensive award in sophomore and junior seasons…team won three straight conference championships…helped team to two IHSA Regional Championships…in basketball was the 2008 Illinois State three-point champion…in volleyball and basketball was an all-Conference selection…member of student council, National Honors Society, band, chorus, Art Club, and yearbook…earned academic all-Conference and academic excellence awards…daughter of Duane and Debra Herin…born on August 27, 1991…will major in accounting.
