MARION, Ind. - Participating in their first-ever NAIA National Outdoor Meet, Sarah Dede and Rachael Dean competed with the best in the nation. Judson did not make the finals in any event but did improve upon their seeded times in their flights.
Dede jumped 37'3.75" in the triple jump to set a personal record as she finished fourth in her flight. She entered the competition as the 25th seed and finished 17th overall.
Dean ran in a heat with eight runners and finished in fifth place with a time of 4:47 in the 1,500 meter run. She came into the event seeded 26th out of 31 runners.
In the first year for women's track in over 10 years, the team competed at both the NAIA and NCCAA Indoor and Outdoor National Championships. At the NCCAA Outdoor Championships, the team finished 10th and had three all-Americans. Dede also won Judson's first-ever individual national championship in the triple jump.
