ELGIN, Ill. - Finishing in the top half of the CCAC for the third year in a row, the Judson University baseball team had three players earn All-CCAC status for the 2010 season. Johnny Amann, Matt McHenry, and Nate Rohl all received awards.
Voted as the CCAC Freshman of the Year, Amann is the second Judson player in three years to receive the award. Amann finished in the top 10 in three categories in the CCAC as he was third in triples, sixth in walks, and ninth in total bases. He finished the year batting .314 and led the team in at-bats (185) and triples (7) breaking the Judson single season record in each category. With 46 runs scored, he was just two runs short of breaking the single season record set by Kevin Fischer last year.
Being named to the All-CCAC first-team with his first CCAC award was McHenry. He finished the year with just six errors and a .943 fielding percentage. He batted .347 in 53 games with five home runs, 12 doubles, and 30 RBI.
In his first year at Judson as a junior, Rohl earned a spot on the All-CCAC honorable mention team. In the CCAC, he finished fifth in doubles and ninth in total bases. He led Judson in batting at .388, slugging percentage (.625), home runs (6) and doubles with 16 while producing 36 RBI. He played in 54 games with the majority as a designated hitter. At Judson in a single season he is third in doubles (16), fourth in home runs (6), fifth in hits (62), seventh in runs scored (41), and eighth in RBI (36).
Winning 39 games, Judson broke the program record for win set last year with 30. This is the first time ever that Judson has had back-to-back 30 win seasons and also back-to-back winning seasons. The team broke 10 records in wins (39), batting average (.331), hits (613), at bats (1,852), runs scored (426), RBI (426), doubles (127), triples (35), home runs (34), and walks (230).
