
ELGIN, Ill. - In the third year of coaching at Judson University, head coach Rich Benjamin guided his team to a program best 39 wins with several of his players earning NCCAA All-Regional awards. Judson also participated in the2010 NCCAA World Series as the #4 seed. Five different players earned NCCAA All-Regional awards along with Benjamin being named co-Coach of the Year.
Picking up NCCAA All-Region first-team were Johnny Amann, Nick Krisman, and Ed Draper. Making the NCCAA All-Region honorable mention team were Levi Pippenger and Matt McHenry.
Nick Krisman is the first of two pitchers on the first team for Judson. Krisman tied the Judson record for wins in a season at eight and set a new record for fewest walks allowed in a season at 0.162 (14/86.0 IP). He was also two innings short of breaking the single season record for innings pitched with 86. For the season, he finished with an 8-5 record and a 4.50 ERA. He also led the team in strikeouts with 50. In his short career at Judson, he is now 11th in wins (8).
Ed Draper is the other pitcher to be named to the first team with 10 saves on the year. Draper led the team in appearances with 25 and also recorded a 4-2 record. His 4-2 record is good for a .667 winning percentage which is seventh in a single season. He leaves Judson as the all-time saves leader with 12 and is third in winning percentage with a 7-4 record (.636).
Gaining honorable mention status were Levi Pippenger and Matt McHenry. Pippenger finished second on the team in batting at .377 and had a .500 slugging percentage. In the single season top 10 for Judson he is fourth in RBI (40), 10th in hits (58) and runs scored (39), and 11th in doubles (13). He had 13 doubles, three triples, and 40 RBI while starting 54 games.
McHenry earned his first award at Judson as a sophomore. He finished batting .347 and was second on the team in home runs with five. His numbers in the 2010 season put him in several top 10 categories for single seas at Judson as he is third in runs scored (45), fifth in at bats (170), seventh in hits (59), eighth in home runs (5), and 16th in doubles (12). In his career, he is just outside of the top 10 in several categories but is fourth in triples (8), eighth in home runs (6), and 10th in runs scored (73).
Winning 39 games, Judson broke the program record for win set last year with 30. This is the first time ever that Judson has had back-to-back 30 win seasons and also back-to-back winning seasons. The team broke 10 records in wins (39), batting average (.331), hits (613), at bats (1,852), runs scored (426), RBI (426), doubles (127), triples (35), home runs (34), and walks (230).
