BOURBONNAIS, Ill. - Looking to receive the automatic bid to the NCCAA (National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association) National Tournament, Judson University won their first game in the NCCAA Regional Baseball Tournament, 5-2, over Trinity International University. Judson had a 5-0 lead and gave up two runs lat in the game. Judson is now 37-21 on the year.

Zach Williams, Angel Cisneros, and Levi Pippenger all had two hits for Judson. Williams led Judson with two RBI as Brian Brauer and Pippenger each had one. Zach Liebman went six innings for the win to improve to 6-1 with one strikeout and one earned run on six hits. Ed Draper came in to finish off the Trojans in the seventh for his ninth save of the year.

Judson took a 2-0 lead in the third inning as Brauer singled in Cisneros for the first run. Williams then stepped up to the plate and ripped a single through the right side as Johnny Amann scored.

In the fifth inning, Judson made it 5-0 with three runs in the inning. After Cisneros singled to start the inning, he came home on the very next batter as Pippenger had a double. Three batters later, Williams doubled in Amann for the second run of the inning. Williams then came home as the final run of the inning on a Trinity International error.

Trinity International then added one run in the fifth and sixth inning to come within three.

Judson will play either Olivet Nazarene or Trinity International at 4:00 p.m. for the NCCAA Regional Championship.
