LINCOLN, Ill. - Extending their winning streak to six games, Judson University swept Lincoln Christian College, 2-1, ad 14-2, to improve to 35-19. Judson has now won a program best 35 games.

Game 1

Judson 2, Lincoln Christian 1

Paul Zarlego singled in two runs in the top of the second inning as Judson held onto a 2-1 lead. Both Ben Vincent and Zach Williams scored on the hit. Scott Newton went six innings for the win to improve to 2-0 and Jason Egli picked up his first save of the year. Mike Krueger went 3-of-4 and Gary Capolino was 2-of-2.

Egli picked up the save in the seventh inning as he gave up just one run with two strikeouts. Newton had five strikeouts in his six innings of work.

Game 2

Judson 14, Lincoln Christian 2

Judson run-ruled Lincoln Christian as they won their 35th game of the year. Jake Zappia went four innings for the win as he gave up no earned runs on three hits with four strikeouts. Derek Shomon went 0.2 innings with two strikeouts and Matt McHenry finished the last out of the fifth inning.

Judson had 15 hits in the game as Krueger was 3-of-3 to lead the team. Nick Norris, Steve Janezic, and Brian Brauer all had two hits. Williams and Nate Rohl led Judson with three RBI each while Nick Norris and Janezic had two RBI and Jason Egli, Matt McHenry, and Krueger had one RBI. Rohl had a home run while Norris recorded two doubles.

Judson scored 14 runs in four straight innings as they put up four in the first inning, two in the second, six in the third, and two in the fourth inning. Lincoln Christian scored one run in the third and one in the fifth.
