CHICAGO, Ill. - Competing for a bid to the NAIA National Tournament First-Round series, Judson split their games in the CCAC Tournament and now will have to play out of the loser's bracket. Judson won their opening game, 5-2, over Olivet Nazarene but then fell to Robert Morris, 4-2. Judson is now 36-20 on the year.

Judson will face either Olivet Nazarene or St. Xavier in the elimination game on Tuesday, May 11th, at 11 a.m. at St. Xavier University with the winner advancing to face Robert Morris in the championship game. The winner out of the loser's bracket will have to defeat Robert Morris twice to win the CCAC Tournament championship. Judson is playing as the #3 seed and Robert Morris is the #4 seed while St. Xavier is #1 and Olivet Nazarene #2.

Judson 5, Olivet Nazarene 2

Judson came from two runs down to take a 5-2 win over Olivet Nazarene to advance in the CCAC Tournament. Olivet Nazarene scored two runs in the top of the fifth inning but Judson scored one in the fifth and two in the sixth to take the 3-2 lead. They then added two insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Mitch Smith pitched the complete, nine-inning, game for the win to improve to 6-4 on the year. He gave up only two earned runs and struck out five batters. Matt McHenry, Zach Williams, and Andy Parsill each had two hits while Parsill led the team with three RBI. Williams and Derek Shomon provided one RBI. Parsill and Shomon each swatted a home run.

After Olivet Nazarene took the 2-0 lead in the fifth, Derek Shomon cut the lead to one in the bottom of the inning with a shot over the left field fence. In the bottom of the sixth, Williams started off the inning with a double and then scored with Parsill's sixth home run of the year to take the 3-2 lead.

In the eighth inning, Nate Rohl reached base on an Olivet Nazarene error to start and Williams brought him home with a triple to left center field. Parsill followed that with a RBI single that brought in Williams for the three-run lead, 5-2.

The win was Judson's 36th on the year which continues to be a program record.

Robert Morris 4, Judson 2

In the second game of the day between the two first round winners, Robert Morris held onto the win to advance to the CCAC Championship game. Robert Morris took a 3-0 led before Judson cut the lead to two in the bottom of the sixth. Judson made it 3-2 in the seventh inning but Robert Morris added a security run in the top of the ninth. Judson had runners on in the bottom of the inning to tie the game but could not come through.

Nick Krisman receives the loss going 6.1 innings and giving up three earned runs on nine hits with one strikeout. Jason Egli went 0.2 innings with one strikeout and then Kevin Carmody and Ed Draper each worked an inning.

Derek Shomon and Levi Pippenger each had two hits with Pippenger and Matt McHenry having one RBI each.

Robert Morris scored two runs in the top of the fifth and one in the sixth to make it 3-0. In the bottom of the sixth, McHenry singled up the middle to score Johnny Amann from third base. Judson then came within one run in the bottom of the seventh on a Pippenger single as Giovanni Cantwell scored.

Judson will now face St. Xavier at 11:00 a.m. at St. Xavier in the loser's bracket. The winner will play Robert Morris at 3:00 p.m.
