
BOURBONNAIS, Ill. - Playing for a trip to the NCCAA National Tournament in a three-game series against Olivet Nazarene, Judson University dropped the first two games to the Tigers, 13-0, and 8-2. Olivet Nazarene now receives the automatic bid and Judson will wait to and see if they qualify for an at-large bid. Judson is now 28-24 on the year.
Game 1
Olivet Nazarene 13, Judson 0
Olivet Nazarene took a 10-0 lead after three innings and never looked back in the shortened five-inning game. Judson only had two hits in the game from Concetta Lampugnano and Lizzy Jacobson. Jacobson took the loss going two innings and giving up seven earned runs on six hits. Hallie Niewold finished the final three innings with five earned runs and seven hits.
Game 2
Olivet Nazarene 8, Judson 2
Scoring three runs in the first three innings, Judson with within two runs, 3-1, after the top of the fourth. Olivet Nazarene then added three runs in the fifth and two in the seventh for the 8-1 lead. Judson added one run in the top of the seventh.
Five different players for Judson had one hit as Jacobson and Brittany Holm both had a RBI. Jacobson received her RBI in the fourth inning with a single up the middle to score Lampugnano and then Holm had a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning to finish out the scoring.
Sarah Boyer went all seven innings for the loss and had two strikeouts with 10 hits and eight earned runs.
Judson will travel to Wisconsin to face NCAA Division III Carthage College on Monday, May 3rd, at 3:00 p.m.
