Kansas City, Mo. – Heading to their fourth straight NAIA Tournament, the Judson University men’s soccer team has been given a #15 seed for the 49th annual championships. JU won their fourth straight NAIA Region VII Tournament earlier this week to receive the automatic bid.
The NAIA National Tournament will take place from Wednesday, November 14th, through Tuesday, November 20th, in Olathe, Kansas. Mid-America Nazarene University is the host institution for the tournament with all the matches being played at the College Boulevard Activity Center.
“It’s nice to be heading back to the national tournament and play for a national championship,” says head coach Steve Burke. “We strive every year to make it to the national tournament. This is our fourth year in a row to make the tournament and that is quite an honor for our program and the seniors that have helped us to get there.”
The entire tournament will be video streamed live via the Internet on JumpTV Sports, formerly XOS Technologies. Fans interested in purchasing the entire tournament or single games may do so by visiting http://www.watchnaia.com/.
Judson is currently 15-4-3 and won 11 of their last 14 matches with two ties and one loss. They currently have a five-game unbeaten streak alive.
In the Steve Burke era, JU is 2-3 in the NAIA National Tournament. JU has made appearances at the NAIA National Tournament in 2004, 2005, 2006 and now 2007. They have wins in the NAIA Tournament over Concordia (Ore.) and Embry Riddle.
Judson will start their run for their first-ever NAIA National Championship on Wednesday, November 14th, at 4:30 p.m. vs. Mid-Continent College.
