ELGIN, Ill. - Lizzy Jacobson went out in style as the lone four-year senior player for Judson University as she won a single season record 14th game and led Judson with six RBI. Judson took game one over Viterbo University, 12-3, but then fell short of a rally win in game two, 10-9. Judson is now 28-22 on the year.

Jacobson went five innings in game one with five strikeouts, five hits, and three earned runs for her 14th win of the year to break Amy Bredlinger's record of 13 wins. Jacobson also went 4-of-7 at the plate for six RBI. Both Carrie Sensor and Hallie Niewold had five hits as Niewold added four RBI.

Game 1

Judson 12, Viterbo 3

Taking the game in five innings, Judson run ruled Viterbo with seven runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Jacobson took the win as she also went 3-of-3 at the plate with four RBI. Sensor also went 3-of-3 and Niewold had two hits.

Judson went after Viterbo right from the beginning with three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Nicole Dimiceli doubled in Lampugnano and then Jacobson stepped up with a long single to right field to clear the bases for two RBI. In the fourth inning, Judson made it 5-0 as Lampugnano sawatted her 10th home run of the year as two runs came in.

Viterbo responded quickly with three runs in the top of the fifth for only a two-run lead, 5-3. Judson did not want Viterbo to get any closer so they put up seven runs to end the game. Haley Secor brought in the first run. She then scored three pitdches later on an error by the catcher after a wild pitch. Allison Catlett also scored on that same error for the third run of the inning. Niewold doubled to right field and then came home as Kristin Krueger tripled to right center field. After Viterbo switched pitchers, Krueger leapt home on a wild pitch for the fifth run of the inning. Two batters later, Jacobson came to the plate with the bases loaded and ended the game with a long single down the left field line as both Sensor and Lampugnano scored.

Game 2

Viterbo 10, Judson 9

Judson's pus for a comeback win fell short in the bottom of the seventh with two runners on as a fielder's choice ended the game. Judson was down 10-4 before they scored five runs in the seventh. Nikki Prokuski receives the loss going 3.1 innings with three hits for three earned runs. Hallie Niewold then went 2.2 innings and had five strikeouts, six hits, and one earned run. Jacobson came in to work the final inning and faced three batters and gave up no runs or hits.

Hallie Niewold went 3-of-4 with four RBI to lead Judson. Lampugnanao, Sensor, Secor, and Brittany Holm all had two hits. Jacobson added two RBI while Sensor and Secor had one RBI.

Judson gave up three runs in the first inning and then five in the fourth to be down, 8-1. Judson put up their first run of the in the third inning on a Sensor triple to score Lampugnano.

Down 8-1, Judson added three runs in the fifth to make it 8-4 only to see Viterbo add two more in the top of the sixth. Judson's three runs came from a Niewold single and then a Jacobson single to score two runs.

In the seventh, Sensor scored first on a wild pitch and then Secor singled in Dimiceli to cut the lead to four, 10-6. With the bases loaded two batters later, Niewold doubled to clear the bases and make it 10-9 with only one out. After a pop out for the second out, the game ended on a close fielder's choice at second base as Viterbo took the win.

Judson will now have a week off as they travel to Bourbonnais, Ill., to face Olivet Nazarene in the NCCAA Regional Tournament on Friday, April 30th, in a three-game series.
