JOLIET, Ill.
- Committing five errors and only scoring two runs, Judson University fell two
games back in the CCAC as the University of St. Francis swept the entire series
with a 12-2 seven inning win. St.
Francis had a 4-1 lead when they scored eight combined runs in the fifth,
sixth, and seventh innings to end the game.
Judson now falls two games back of St. Francis in a second place tie
with St. Xavier.
Stefan
Alinkas went six innings giving up five earned runs on 11 hits with five
strikeouts. Jake Zappia made an
appearance and faced three batters to give up three earned runs. Jason Egli finished by facing three batters
and giving up one run on two hits.
Johnny Amann
and Levi Pippenger each had two hits for Judson as Amann recorded the lone
RBI.
St. Francis
scored four runs in the first three innings for a 4-0 lead. Judson cut the lead to three, 4-1, in the top
of the fourth. Giovanni Cantwell hit
into a double play that scored Matt McHenry for the lone run of the inning. In the bottom of the fifth, St. Francis
started their three inning rally for eight runs. Judson's other run came in the top of the
seventh when Amann singled in Nick Norris.
Judson will
next play on Wednesday, April 28th, when they travel to Milwaukee,
Wisc., to face Cardinal Stritch at 3:30 p.m.
