Adding two runs in the top of the sixth to retake the lead, 3-2, Purdue-North Central could not hold onto the win as Judson put up two in the bottom of the inning. Dimiceli and Jacobson started off the inning with two straight singles and then advanced to second and third on a Carrie Sensor sacrifice bunt. Secor followed with her loop single that gave Judson the lead for good.
Karissa Inglis took the loss for Purdue-North Central as she gave up the runs for the Judson win.
Game 2
Judson 10, Purdue-North Central 2
Scoring seven runs in the first two innings, Judson went on to take the five-inning game putting up three runs in the fourth for the 10-2 win. Sarah Boyer pitched the five-inning win to improve to 6-5 and had three strikeouts on four hits and two earned runs. Dimiceli, Secor, and Allison Catlett all went 2-of-3 in the game as Catlett had three RBI on a home run and double. Dimiceli provided two RBI with her 11th home run of the year.
Sensor was the lone run in the first inning to make it 1-0. She walked as the second batter of the game but advanced to second and then third when Dimiceli fouled out to the catcher. On the next pitch, Purdue-North Central's Sandi Downs had a passed ball as Sensor crossed the plate.
The second inning was the big one for Judson as they put up six runs to make it 7-0. After a Secor single to start the inning, Catlett smashed her third home run of the year for a three-run lead. Three batters later, Concetta Lampugnano had her first triple of the year as Hallie Niewold crossed the plate for the third run of the inning. Sensor then provided a deep single to the shortstop as Lampugnano came home. Dimiceli singled to get on base with Sensor and then both of them stole bases with Sensor heading home on a throwing error to third base. On the very next play, Dimiceli stole third and then came home on another Downs' throwing error to third to complete the six runs in the inning.
Purdue-North Central tried to make it interesting by scoring two in the fourth inning to cut the lead to five, 7-2, but in the bottom of the inning Judson put up three runs for the eight-run advantage. Three batters into the inning, Dimiceli cracked her 11th home run of the year over centerfield to make it 9-2 and then two batters later Catlett doubled in Secor to make it 10-2.
