BOURBONNIS, Ill. - Winning seven out of their last eight games and providing a four-game winning streak, Judson University won both of their games in the Olivet Nazarene University Invitational. Judson is now 13-7 on the year.

Judson 8, Trinity Christian 7

Facing the Trolls for a third time in three days, Judson had to have a game winning hit in the bottom of the seventh inning for the win. The winning run came when Concetta Lampugnano singled to the outfield to score Sam Gladen from second base. Lampugnano led Judson in the game with a 4-of-4 performance, three runs scored, and six RBI. Also helping Lampugnano with hitting were Lizzy Jacobson and Gladen each with two hits.

Boyer took her second win over Trinity Christian in a week as she went the final 3.2 innings with four strikeouts and gave five hits but no runs. Hallie Niewold was the starter and went 3.1 innings giving up five earned runs and seven overall.

Trinity Christian struck first with a run in the top of the first but then Lampugnano smacked her second home run of the year to tie the game. Judson then took a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the second when Lampugnano lifted her second home run of the day for three runs.

The Trolls followed with five of their own runs in the top of third for a two-run advantage, 6-4, and then made it 7-4 in the top of the fourth with one run. Lampugnano crossed the plate in the fourth inning to cut the lead to two on an error, 7-5

In the bottom of the fifth, Jacobson started off the inning with a home run to come within one and then Lampugnano hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game at seven as Boyer touched home plate. Lampugnano then had the winning hit in the seventh inning to give Judson the win.

Judson 12, Aquinas 3

Judson continued their offensive attack with 12 runs in the second game of the day. They scored four runs in the third, fifth, and seventh innings. Judson pounded out 12 hits in the win, too. Lizzy Jacobson went the entire game for the win and had five strikeouts and two earned runs.

Lampugnano, Danielle Curylo, Nicole Dimiceli, and Haley Secor all had two hits. Carrie Sensor led Judson with three hits while Dimiceli had four RBI. Jacobson and Secor each had two RBI and Curylo and Sensor had one RBI. Dimiceli had a home run in the game while Curylo had two doubles.

Aquinas took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second before Judson unleashed for four runs in the top of the third. Sensor brought in the first run to tie the game on a single and then Dimiceli followed that with a three-run shot for the 4-1 lead. Aquinas came within one, 4-3, with two runs in the bottom of the inning but that was the last of their runs scored.

In the fifth inning, Curylo recorded a RBI with a double to left center field to score Kristin Krueger then three batters later Jacobson grounded out but Curylo scored on the play. An Aquinas error on an Allison Catlett at-bat led to two unearned runs as both Dimiceli and Sensor made it 8-3.

The seventh inning brought the final four runs to make it 12-3. Dimiceli recorded her fourth RBI of the game with a single that had Curylo score a fielder's choice on a Jacbson at-bat led to the second run of the inning. Three batters later, Secor finished the scoring for Judson with a single that brought in both Brittany Holm (running for Jacobson) and Dimiceli.

Judson will face Stephens College and Olivet Nazarene on day two of the Olivet Nazarene Invitational on Saturday, March 27th.
