TUCSON, Ariz. - Splitting games on day five of the Tucson Invitational Games, Judson University is now 6-2 on the new season. They won their first game of the day, 8-5, over Jamestown College, but then fell to University of Great Falls, 2-1.

Judson 8, Jamestown 5

Judson added three runs in the top of the seventh inning to take an 8-4 lead as they held onto an 8-5 win. Lizzy Jacobson went five innings for the win giving up just three earned runs with one walk and strikeout. Hallie Niewold picked up the save in two innings of work with one strikeout and one earned run.

Nicole Dimiceli was hot, again, at the plate as she was 2-of-3 with five RBI and two runs scored and one home run. Also collecting a RBI were Jacobson, Haley Secor, and Alison Catlett.

Judson took a quick 2-0 lead in the first inning when Dimiceli singled home both Sensor and Concetta Lampugnano. Jamestown tied up the game at two in the bottom of the third inning before Judson put three on the board in the fifth. The three runs came from a Dimiceli home run.

Jamestown came within one in the bottom of the fifth with a two-run inning. Judson then scored three security runs in the top of the seventh for an 8-4 lead. Jacobson picked up her RBI with a single to the outfield to score Dimiceli. Three batters later, Secor hit in Jacobson and then Sam Gladen crossed the plate on a Jamestown error. Jamestown scored one run with two outs in the bottom of the inning before Niewold got the final batter to ground out.

Great Falls 2, Judson 1

Judson produced only four hits in the second game of the day as they fell to Great Falls, 2-1. Kristin Krueger was 2-of-2 with the lone RBI as she hit a home run. Bri Simmons took the loss for Judson in just 0.2 innings of work giving up two earned runs on three hits. Sarah Boyer finished out the game and gave up no runs, four hits, and recorded seven strikeouts.

Great Falls scored both of their runs in the first inning and then played great defense for the win. Judson's lone run came in the bottom of the sixth on a home run by Krueger.
