
TUCSON, Ariz. - Becky Stenning won her 99th and 100th career wins on day two of the Tucson Invitational as the Judson University softball team defeated Peru State, 6-5, and Cornerstone, 13-8. Judson is now 3-0 on the year.

Lizzy Jacobson hit in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning for the 6-5 win. Playing the International Tiebreaker Rule, Nicole Dimiceli was placed on second base to start the inning. Jacobson stepped up and singled to centerfield to end the game, 6-5.
Haley Secor led Judson with two RBI along with having two hits. Also producing two hits were Concetta Lampugnano, Hallie Niewold, and Sam Gladen. Recording a RBI were Jacobson, Dimiceli, Niewold, and Alison Catlett.
Peru State took a quick 1-0 lead in the top of the first only to give up three in the bottom of the inning to Judson. Dimiceli scored the first run with a single to the shortstop to tie the game at one. Niewold then batted in a run on a Peru State error. Judson's third run also came on an error when Catlett was at bat.
Peru State answered back with four of their own runs in the top of the second for a 5-3 lead. Judson tied the game in the bottom of the third at five. Secor singled to left field to bring in both Gladen and Niewold to tie the game.
After four scoreless innings, Judson broke the tie for the win in the eighth.
Sarah Boyer received the win going 6.1 innings and did not give up any runs or hits while recording nine strikeouts. Nikki Prokuski started and went 1.2 innings giving up five earned runs with six walks.
Judson 13, Cornerstone 8
Judson scored all 13 runs in the third inning and then held onto the win over the final four innings. Secor picked up the win pitching four innings with one strikeout, five runs (four earned), and seven hits. Bri Simmons started and went two innings for two earned runs and one strikeout. Niewold finished the final inning and gave up one run and two hits.
Four players had two hits as Lampugnano led everybody with three RBI. Joining Lampugnano with two hits were Carrie Sensor, Dimiceli, and Jacobson. Lampugnano had her two of her three RBI with a home run.
