ELGIN, Ill. - Waiting in anticipation to see who they would play as it came down to the final pairing on the College Fanz NAIA Division II National Tournament selection show, Judson University drew #2 Oregon Tech in the first round of the tournament. Judson will play on Wednesday, March 10th, at 5:45 p.m. in Point Lookout, Missouri.
Judson received the automatic bid to the NAIA Division II National Tournament with an upset win over #9 Cardinal Stritch in the CCAC Tournament Championship game. Judson is 17-12 on the year and currently has a seven-game winning streak. Cardinal Stritch did receive one of the at-large bids and is seeded as the #11 team. This is also the first time that the CCAC has had two teams in the NAIA Division II National Tournament. This is the second time in three years that Judson has made the NAIA Division II National Tournament as they made their first appearance in 2008.
Judson's tournament history is slim as they have only made the tournament once in 2008. Judson won the automatic bid through winning the CCAC Tournament over Cardinal Stritch. Judson was not seeded and 91-57 to #4 Walsh.
Oregon Tech is the #2 seed and comes into the tournament with a 29-4 record. They have been to the NAIA Division II National Tournament 12 times and have a 26-9 record. They have also won the national championship twice. They won both the regular season and tournament championship for the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
The NAIA Division II National Tournament takes place in Point Lookout, Missouri, at the College of the Ozarks.
