JACKSON, Tenn. - Improving to 3-5 on the year, Judson University split their double header with Culver-Stockton College in Tennessee. Judson took game one, 1-0, but then fell in game two, 13-3.

Game 1

Johnny Amann hit the game winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning with a double to score Matt McHenry for the one run advantage. John Banks came in to work the top of the seventh for the win. He struck out the first batter and then gave up two hits before the final two batters flew out and grounded out.

McHenry led Judson with a 3-of-3 performance at the plate and scoring a run. Ben Vincent had two hits in which one was a double. Stephan Alinkas went 5.2 innings on the mound for the no-decision. He did not give up any runs and had one walk and one strikeout while just four hits got away from the fielders.

Game 2
Culver Stockton 13, Judson 3
 

Culver-Stockton's big fourth inning was the difference as they scored seven runs for a 10-0 lead. After three innings, they had just a 3-0 lead. They then put up another three runs in the final two innings. Judson had one run innings in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings.

Giovanni Cantwell and Zach Williams both went 2-of-3 to lead Judson. Cantwell also had one of Judson's three RBI. Paul Zarlengo and Brian Brauer each had a RBI.

Zach Liebman received the start and went 3.1 innings and gave up nine hits, seven earned runs, and one strikeout with no walks. Jeremy Winnan then went 0.2 innings and had two hits for three earned runs . Matt McHenry and Ed Draper each pitched an inning and gave up three combined runs.

Judson will next play in Tennessee on their 2010 Spring Break trip on Saturday, March 6th, against Freed-Hardman at 2:00 p.m.
