JACKSON, Tenn. - Judson University had their first real games of the season as they faced Culver-Stockton at a neutral site in Jackson, Tn. The Eagles coming off last weekend against Clarke College in a four game series in the Metrodome finally took the field outdoors. The Eagles and Wildcats played the first part of the weekend's double-header today winning game one with by a score of 9-2 and dropping the second game with a score of 6-4.

Judson 9, Culver-Stockton 2

Judson University started off game one as the away team and was able to get first at-bats. The Eagles were able to come up with two hits in the first inning with a single through the right side by Zach Williams and a double off the bat of Andy Parsill. The Eagles were able to score early to set the tone for the entire game with three in the second off three different RBI singles. The Eagles doubled their run production from the second inning during the fifth inning as they scored six runs on four hits.

Senior Andy Parsill went 3-of-4 with two RBI's and one strikeout. Freshman John Amann went 2-of-4 with two RBI's while sophomore Matt McHenry went 2-of-3 with two RBI's, one walk, and one strikeout.

Nick Krisman started on the mound for game one and went three innings of no-hit ball until the fourth inning when Culver-Stockton's Sal Rivera singled through the left side. The Wildcats scored their only runs of the game during the fourth inning. Krisman was credited with the win while going five innings, allowing two runs on four hits, one walk, and three strikeouts.

Culver-Stockton 6, Judson 4

Game two of the double-header was called after the first half of the sixth inning due to darkness. Culver-Stockton was able to squeeze out the first run of the game in the first inning off Judson starter Mitch Smith.

The Eagles had the lead going into the bottom half of the fifth inning with a score of 3-2. The Eagles scored twice in the top half of the second with an RBI single off the bats Giovanni Cantwell and Matt McHenry. Mike Krueger drove in the third run of the game for the Eagles during the fourth inning driving in Nate Rohl.

Starter Mitch Smith went four innings of work while giving up six hits, four runs, one walk, and four strikeouts. He was handed his second loss on the season.

Judson will finish off the second part of this weekend's double-header tomorrow, Sunday February 28th, with game one starting at noon.
