Judson University 78, Trinity Christian 73

PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. - Judson University (13-12, 9-2) was able to escape with a CCAC win against Trinity Christian (10-17, 5-6) after scoring 47 second half points. Jim Kuban scored 20 points along with seven rebounds while playing all 40 minutes of the game.

Ben Rayhorn led the way for the Eagles on the boards with a game high 11 rebounds to go along with his 14 points. Judson also got contribution from Josh Edwards and Landon Skinner for a combined 29 points. Skinner is now 12 points shy of 1,000 career points in only his second year at Judson University. Leading all scorers was the Trolls Matt Buren with 24 points and nine rebounds.

Judson started out the first half scoring the first five points with a three from Rayhorn and a layup from Kuban. The Trolls then went on a nine point run to give them the lead with a score of 9-5. The first half featured three lead changes and the score was tied six times. The Eagles went into the half down 38-31.

The Trolls scored the first point of the second half but Judson scored the next six points. Later in the second half at 4:46 both teams were tied at 71. Judson University finished the game on a 7-2 run giving them the 78-73 win.

The Eagles shot 47.5% from the floor, 40% from beyond the arc, and 63.6% from the charity stripe. The Trolls shot 41.5% from the floor, 29.4% from three, and 82.4% from the free throw line.

Judson will host Trinity International at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 20th.
