ELGIN, Ill. - History continues to happen at Judson University with the baseball program as they are breaking new barriers by opening up their season in February. Judson has never played a game in February and now will be on a bigger spotlight playing Clarke College at the Minnesota Metrodome on Monday, February 15, and Tuesday, February 16.
Due to the inclement weather in Kentucky, Judson cancelled their series with Asbury College and made arrangements to head north to Minnesota. Judson will play four games against Clarke College in two days. Both days will bring double headers with the first on Monday, February 15th, at 9:30 p.m. followed by a double header on Tuesday, February 16th, at 5:00 p.m.
Ten games are scheduled in the month of February as Judson will also travel to Missouri on back-to-back weekends on February 20-21 and 26-27. Judson will first travel to Harris-Stowe State University the first weekend for a three-game set and then to Culver Stockton the following weekend.
Judson is coming off their finest year after winning a program best 30 games and finishing third in the CCAC. They broke nine team records last year and came just one game away from qualifying for the NAIA National Tournament. Rich Benjamin is entering his third year at Judson as the head coach and has improved the team's record both seasons.
