
MILWAUKEE, Wisc. - It just was not Judson University's (10-12/6-2) night in Milwaukee as #10 Cardinal Stritch University (20-4/8-0) took full control of the CCAC, 90-67. The loss ends Judson six-game winning streak and now Cardinal Stritch has sole possession of first place in the CCAC with a two-game advantage over Judson.
Josh Weber led Judson with 15 points and was followed by Josh Edwards' 12 points. Anthony Ahlers and Weber each had six rebounds to lead Judson. Kody Braddix led all scorers with 29 points for Cardinal Stritch.
The game looked as though it would be a barn burner early on as Judson was within three, 25-22, with just 6:12 left in the first half. Jim Kuban banked a layup to put Judson in that situation. Judson then had a chance to cut the lead to one on the very next possession but failed to find the net and Cardinal Stritch grabbed the rebound. The Wolves then preceded to start and 18-4 run over the next five minutes to take control of the game, 43-26. Judson went into the half down by 17, 46-29.
After forcing a turnover to start the second half, Judson did come within 16, 48-32, in the first two minutes of the half. In the next four and half minutes, Cardinal Stritch had an 18-4 run that put them in front by 30 points, 66-36. The Judson offense never recovered as the fell to the #10 Wolves.
Overall, Judson had a nice night shooting making 43% of their shots but made on 28% from beyond the arc and 65% from the stripe. Cardinal Stritch finished shooting 54% from the floor, 50% from three-point range, and 75% from the line. Judson out rebounded Cardinal Stritch, 37-29, but had 19 turnovers.
Judson travels to Indiana to face Purdue-Calumet at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday in CCAC action.
