
MILWAUKEE, Wisc. - Facing one of the top teams in the nation, Judson University (8-13/2-4) did not have the fire power to keep up with #17 Cardinal Stritch University (22-2/7-0) dropping their second game in row, 80-51. Judson only scored 14 points in the first half and was down by 24 at the half, 38-14.
Kirstin Johns was the only player to score in double figures with 14 points and ShaRhonda Huff had six rebounds.
Not being able to keep pace with Cardinal Stritch in the first half, Judson shot just 16% from the floor and 11% from the three point line. They improved in the second half, scoring 37 points, by making 50% of their shots from beyond the arc. They finished the game shooting 27% overall, 36% from the three-point line, and 80% from the stripe. Cardinal Stritch shot 45% from the floor and out rebounded Judson by 27 rebounds, 53-26. Cardinal Stritch also forced 16 turnovers.
Just seven minutes into the game, Judson was within five of Cardinal Stritch, 10-5 (13:07). In the next seven minutes, Cardinal Stritch had a 12-2 run for a 22-7 lead. In the final six minutes of the half, Cardinal Stritch outscored Judson, 16-7, for the 24-point advantage.
Cardinal Stritch extended their lead in the second half to more than 30 points as they went on for the 29-point win.
Judson will travel to Hammond, Ind., on Saturday, February 6th, to face Purdue-Calumet at 1:00 p.m.
