ELGIN, Ill. - Supporting the Coaches vs. Cancer basketball campaign, the Judson University Athletic Department raised $350 on January 30th. Judson hosted the event to help raise money to find a cure for cancer.
In the Coaches vs. Cancer day, the Judson University Athletic Department had activities for the fans to help raise funds. For every fan that came in wearing their Blue Crew shirt, they received $1 to donate back to the cause. Everybody that did donate $1 or more also received a Livestrong bracelet. If somebody donated $5 or more, they received a chance to win $100 if they made a half court shot.
There were over 15 people that had a chance to win $100 with the half court shot with one person making it. The very first shot was taken by Josh Edward's brother who swooshed it for the cash. He then received the money for the Judson Athletics Department for the shot.
Both coaches for Judson (Tony Tompkins) and Purdue-North Central (Kristopher Schnatz) both wore sneakers to support the cause.
