CCAC Championship Match

Elgin, Ill. – Judson University (12-4-3) will be hosting their fourth straight CCAC Tournament Championship match on Tuesday, October 30th, at 2:30 p.m. They will be facing #3 seed St. Xavier with the winner advancing to the NAIA Region VII Tournament.

This will be the fourth year in a row that JU has hosted the CCAC Tournament Championship. JU has won the last three championships and is vying for their fourth. Last week, they won their fourth straight CCAC Regular Season Championship with a 2-2 tie against Illinois Tech.

Judson received a quarterfinal bye due to being the #1 seed. They then played #4 seeded Olivet Nazarene University on Saturday, October 27th, and came away with a 2-1 win. SXU has advanced to the CCAC Championship match with wins over #6 Trinity Christian (2-0) and #2 Trinity International (1-0).

SXU and JU have met 23 times since 1993 and JU holds an 18-2-3 advantage. JU defeated SXU earlier this season, 1-0, in overtime in Elgin. This will be the second time in five years that SXU plays in the CCAC Championship match as they last played in 2003 for the championship.

JU has won four CCAC Tournament Championships in 2002, 2004, 2005, and 2006. They have also won six CCAC Regular Season Championships in 2000, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007.
