Judson 108, Silver Lake 61 - Box

ELGIN, Ill. - Josh Edwards contributed to buying new nets for Judson University after he burnt them up from three-point range hitting eight three-pointers as the Eagles cruised to a 108-61 win over Silver Lake College. Edwards went 8-of-13 from the arc for 29 points to move into the Judson all-time top 10 list for career three-point attempts (321). He now just needs four made three-pointers to move into the top 10 list for career three-pointers made.

Along with Edwards, Jim Kuban and Michael Wood had career-games. Kuban dished out his first double-double of the season with 13 points and a career-high 11 assists. Wood set a career-high with 12 rebounds and six assists. Landon Skinner finished with 14 points and was followed by Josh Weber's 13.

It was also a team effort in the 47-point win as Judson's defense held Silver Lake to 34% shooting from the floor, 7% from beyond the arc, and forced 14 turnovers. Judson's offense shot 57% and made 46% of their three-point shots (12-of-26). They also out rebounded Silver Lake, 52-30.

Silver Lake was within four points, 14-10, just over five minutes in the game when Edwards stepped his game up a notch. He started a 36-11 Judson run over the next 11 minutes that put the game away for Judson. In those 11 minutes, Edwards scored 14 of the 36 points and nine of the first 11 with three three-pointers. He hit four three-pointers and added a bucket at the end of the run to make it 50-21. His three three-pointers at the beginning of the run came in less than a two-minute time span. Judson finished the half with a 54-27 advantage. They held Silver Lake to no three-pointers in that half and made 53% (7-of-13) from beyond the arc.

The second half was equally as impressive as Judson scored another 54 points and shot 57% from the floor. Weber made it a 31-point game, 72-41, with 13:52 left in the game and the Anthony Ahlers pushed Judson's lead to 40, 88-48, with 5:32 left. Judson's largest lead of 47 came with 1:11 left on a Brian Sherwood jumper. Wood tied the biggest lead with 19 seconds left in the game, 108-61. With 2:30 left in the game, it was LeStan Hoskins' bucket that put Judson at the century mark.

Judson will travel to Deerfield, Ill., on Wednesday, January 27th, to face Trinity International at 7:30 p.m. in CCAC play.
