
ELGIN, Ill. - ShaRhonda Huff put together a career game almost pulling off the triple-double with 19 points, eight assists, and five steals as Judson University (8-11) won their third game in a row, 89-33, over Silver Lake College (2-11). Huff led Judson's strong offensive push as the team shot 51% from the floor and five players scored in double figures.
Kristi Siemers hit three three-pointers for 15 points and was followed by Kirstin John's 14 points, Ima Petion's 13 points, and Lindsey Jordan's 10. Alicia Rovertoni grabbed eight rebounds and now has 820 career rebounds. Arielle Flores led Silver Lake College with 12 points.
The first two minutes of the game were the closest for both teams as the score was tied at four. Judson ended that tie over the next 10 minutes with a 41-4 run to take a 43-8 lead. Silver Lake College did not hit double digits on the scoreboard until the 7:42 mark in the first half. Judson had their best offensive half as they shot 58% and scored 61 points. Judson's defense was also facto this half as they forced 20 turnovers which matched Silver Lake's total points.
Judson and Silver Lake combined to not make a shot for the first four minutes of the second half. Both teams struggled offensively as it was a turn from the first half. Judson only scored 28 points but held Silver Lake to just 13 points. Judson only scored two points in the first eight minutes of the second half. With 5:42 left in the game, Judson took their largest lead of 56, 82-26.
Judson forced 35 Silver Lake turnovers and had 24 steals and nine blocks. Rachel McBride, Daisy Jara, and Alicia Rovertoni each had two blocks. Jara also had a career-high four steals along with Ima Petion stealing a career-high three balls. Judson held Silver Lake to just 26% shooting from the floor.
