Elgin, Ill.- Continuing their push forward in the post season, Judson University was awarded the #1 seed for the upcoming NAIA Region VII women’s soccer tournament. The tournament will be held in Des Moines, Iowa, at the James Cownie Soccer Complex.

This is the first-time that Judson will be playing in the NAIA Region VII Tournament and the as the #1 seed. They received the #1 seed by winning the CCAC Tournament Championship and having a stronger ‘Longo’ score than St. Ambrose who was the MCC Tournament Champion. The ‘Longo’ is a system that rates your schedule and determines how difficult your schedule is.

Judson will face the winner of the #4 Grand View/#5 Trinity Christian match on Friday, November 2^nd, at 3:30 p.m. Grand View and Trinity Christian are playing on Tuesday, October 30^th at 7:00 p.m. in Des Moines, Iowa. St. Xavier will face Trinity International on Tuesday, too, in Chicago, at 5:00 p.m. with the winner advancing to face St. Ambrose on Friday, November 2^nd. The winners of the semifinal matches will play for the Regional Championship on Saturday, November 3^rd, at 3:00 p.m. with the winner moving onto the NAIA National Tournament in Daytona Beach, Florida.

JU has faced both St. Xavier, TIU, and TCC this season. If TCC defeats Grand View, JU will see TCC for the second time this season. On October 3^rd, JU defeated then #12 Trinity Christian, 3-2, in overtime as Christina Thornton hit the game winning goal in the 91^st minute. If JU can advance to the Regional Championship, they may see another CCAC foe in either SXU or TIU.

The Eagles also have the possibility of facing Grand View. JU holds a 2-0 lead in the series vs. Grand View with the last meeting in 2005. JU won 3-0 in Elgin. JU is also 2-1 vs. St. Ambrose and fell to the Bees earlier this season, 2-1.

JU is currently 11-5-2 with a nine-game unbeaten streak. They will play TCC or GVC at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, November 2^nd, in Des Moines, Iowa.
