
ELGIN, Ill. - Judson University (7-11, 2-2) continued their recent success extending their win streak to three games over Trinity Christian (2-19, 0-4), 68-55. In a game that featured five lead changes and four ties, the Eagles fought hard and held Trinity from scoring for nearly seven minutes in the second half that sealed the victory.
Leading the way for Judson offensively was freshman ShaRhonda Huff (Chattanooga, TN) and senior Aubrey Parsons (Sterling, IL) with 14 points. Senior Alicia Rovertoni (Columbia, IL) added eight points and 11 rebounds and Kristi Siemers (Bensenville, IL) had 12 points, which all came from three pointers. Trinity's leading scorer was junior Christine Iwema with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
The first half featured three lead changes with Judson University being down eight with just under 14 minutes left in the first half. Judson came back however on 15-3 run to end the first half with a lead of 34-30.
Throughout the second half both teams were tied with the final tie at 41 in the 13th minute. Judson took the lead with two free throws by freshman Ima Petion (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) and held the Trolls scoreless for the next seven minutes. The run sealed the win for the Eagles at home.
The Trolls and Eagles combined to miss 24 layups in the entire game. The Eagles largest lead of the game came with just under six minutes left in the game and lead by 19.
Judson University shot 35.2% from the floor, 39.1% from three point, and 64.3% from the free throw line. Trinity shot 45.8% from the floor, 42.9% from three point, and 27.8% from the free throw line. Both teams combined to grab 41 rebounds. Judson University forced 25 Troll turnovers in the game.
