
WHITING, Ind. - Calumet College had a two-point lead with 9:15 left in the game when Judson University (6-11/2-1) went on an 11-0 run to take control for a 98-82 win. Judson was down as many as 10 points in the first half and was down seven at the half, 54-47.
Josh Edwards lit up the nets again with 24 points making four three-pointers as he lead five Judson players in double figures. Landon Skinner added 17 points, Ben Rayhorn 15, Jim Kuban 14, and LeStan Hoskins 12. Hoskins also added eight rebounds and Anthony Ahlers had eight points, five blocks, and five assists. Judson finished shooting 56% from the floor, 47% from the arc, and 66% from the stripe. Judson out rebounded Calumet, 43-30.
Judson was down early in the first half, 7-2, and faced a 10-point deficit later in the half. With 13:07 left in the half, Calumet had an 18-8 lead only to see Judson answer with a five minute, 21-10 run, to take a one-point lead, 29-28. Calumet then pushed their lead back to six and took a seven point led into the half, 54-47. It was Judson's three-point shooting that kept them alive in the first half as they made 54% from the arc.
Calumet hit the first bucket of the second half to put their lead at nine points, 56-47. It was at this point that Judson's offensive shooting was picked up a notch. Judson went on a 23-8 run over the next eight minutes to take a six point lead, 71-65. Calumet did not roll over and give up but added a 10-2 run to retake a two-point lead, 75-73. That was the last time they would see the lead as Judson scored the next 11 points in three minutes for a nine-point lead, 84-75. Judson went on to take their largest lead of 16 points on a Hoskins shot to end the game with 14 seconds left.
