ELGIN, Ill. - Pushing #23 Cardinal Stritch to their limits in the second half, Judson University (4-11/1-1) fell short in their upset Wolves, 78-62. Judson was within three points (40-37) just two minutes into the second half when Cardinal Stritch went on a 19-7 run over nine minutes to take a 17-point lead, 59-42.

Ben Rayhorn led Judson with 13 points while Josh Edwards had 10 points. Anthony Ahlers contributed 10 rebounds. Jim Kuban added a career-high seven assists. Cardinal Stritch's Brandon D'Amico had 18 points to lead all scorers.

Making an 8-2 run at the beginning of the second half, Judson put themselves in a place to make a move for the lead as they were down just three, 40-37. That is when Cardinal Stritch responded with their 19-7 run to take command of the game. Judson never came within more than 14 points after the run.

Edwards opened up the game with a three-pointer for the quick 3-0 lead. Judson battled with Cardinal Stritch in the first five minutes and had a three-point lead, 11-8, at the 15:42 mark on a Rayhorn three-pointer. Over the next three and half minutes, Cardinal Stritch went on a 12-0 run to take a 20-11 lead. Judson continued to push the Wolves and was within three, 31-28, with just under three minutes left in the half. Only scoring one point in the final three minutes, Judson was down 38-29 at the half.

Judson shot 40% from the floor, 28% from the three-point line, and only 53% from the stripe. Judson made 40% of their three-point shots in the first half but went 2-of-11 in the second half (18%). Cardinal Stritch finished shooting 42% from the floor, 30% from beyond the arc (50% in the second half), and 75% from the free throw line. Cardinal Stritch out rebounded Judson, 45-37. Judson only had 12 turnovers and forced only seven Cardinal Stritch turnovers.

Judson will host Purdue-Calumet on Wednesday, January 13th, at 7:30 p.m. in the Lindner Fitness Center.
