Webber International 71, Judson 65 - Box

BABSON PARK, Fla. - Down as many as 13 points in the first half, Judson University fought back to take a three-point lead in the second half only to see Webber International (4-4) pull away in the closing minutes for a 71-65 win. Judson was within four points with just over a minute to go in the game but Webber International was 5-of-6 from the free throw line in that time to keep the lead.

Aubrey Parsons had her best game of the year as she was the only Judson player in double figures with 18 points. Alicia Rovertoni led the team with eight rebounds. Judson finished shooting 34% from the floor, 22% from beyond the arc, and 60% from the stripe. They had 17 turnovers and 12 steals. Webber International shot 51% from the floor and 61% from the free throw line. They did not make any three-pointers on eight attempts.

Webber International took an eight point lead in the first four minutes of the game and had their lead to 13, 28-15, by the 6:40 mark. Judson's game kicked into gear at this point as they finished the half on a 19-7 run to cut the half time lead to one, 35-34. Crystal Goodall hit her only three-pointer of the game to put Judson within one.

Judson started the second half on a 7-3 run for a three-point advantage, 41-38, when Kirstin Johns made one of two free throws. After that point, there were eight ties in the second half as each team battled back and forth. With 3:18 left in the game, Lindsey Jordan hit her first three-pointer to put Judson up, 62-61. Just under a minute later, Webber International's Angelica Pennington made one of two free throws to tie the game at 62.

The offensive well that Judson was pulling from went dry in the final 2:30 as Webber International outscored Judson, 9-3, for the win. Jordan hit her second three-pointer in three minutes to put Judson within four, 69-65, with 13 seconds left but Webber International hit both free throws to put the game away. Judson only made two baskets in the final 3:18 as both shots were three-pointers by Jordan.

Judson will take on Warner University at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday in Florida.
