Ill. - Judson University's (3-6) 22 turnovers led to 21 extra points for
Wheaton College (5-3) as the Eagles fell, 83-56, on the road in Wheaton. Judson did out rebound Wheaton, 44-41, and
shot 87% from the free throw line.
Alicia
Rovertoni had another double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead
Judson while Aubrey Parsons added 10 points.
Parsons (4-of-4), Kirstin Johns (3-of-3), and Crystal Goodall (2-of-2)
all were perfect from the free throw line.
Wheaton College
hit the opening bucket and never looked back as they led the entire game. By the 14:33 mark, they had an 11-point lead
but Judson came within eight, 20-12, with 11:28 left in the half on two
Rovertoni free throws. Over the next
eight minutes, Wheaton put together a 21-9 run for a 20-point lead, 41-21. Goodall's two free throws came with 40
seconds left in the half to bring the halftime score to 45-27.
In the
second half, Judson came within 17, twice, but did not get any closer.
Overall,
Judson shot 33% but made only 22% of their shots from beyond the arc. Wheaton finished shooting 42% from the floor,
46% from the three-point line, and 67% from the stripe. Wheaton forced 22 Judson turnovers and had 12
steals.
Judson will
travel to Wisconsin on December 15th to face Silver Lake College at
7:00 p.m.
