
ELGIN, Ill. - After being named the MVP of Defense at the NCCAA National Tournament, junior Alex Tyton (Elgin, IL/Trinity International) was named to the NCCAA All-American First-Team as a goalie. This is the first award for him as an all-American.
Tyton helped Judson to a 19-3-1 record and to their sixth NCCAA National Championship. In the 23 matches he played, he came away with nine shutouts and had 98 saves with a 0.89 goals against average. Judson won 13 of their last 15 matches with six of the matches being shutouts. He now has 15 career shutouts at Judson in two years.
This year he also was named to the All-CCAC first-team, the NCCAA National All-Tournament team, NCCAA Defensive MVP, and the NCCAA All-Region team.
At the NCCAA National Tournament, Judson also received some awards for the tournament. Tyton was named the Defensive MVP while senior Gustavo Oliveira was the Tournament MVP. They both were also on the NCCAA All-Tournament team. Also making the team was sophomore Rafa Heck.
