ELGIN, Ill. - Three women's soccer players from Judson University received NCCAA North Central Region honors for their play in 2009. Senior Christina Thornton, junior Lynsey McFarland, and freshman Kamila Marchi all were named to the first team.

This is the fourth year in a row that Thornton has been on the NCCAA All-Region team. She has also been a NCCAA All-American twice. She finished the season with 20 goals and has a career total of 79 goals and 181 points. She leaves Judson as the all-time leader for goals and points. Recently at the NCCAA National Tournament, she was named to the all-tournament team.

Earning their first award for the NCCAA are both McFarland and Marchi. McFarland played and started 19 matches and finished with eight goals and six assists. Marchi, who was the CCAC Freshman of the Year, had five goals and 10 assists. The 10 assists led Judson.

Judson finished the 2009 season with a 14-7-3 record and a program best third place finish at the NCCAA National Tournament. The 14 wins are second best for the program, too.
