BENSONVILLE, Ill. - Knocking off #1 seeded Robert Morris University, 4-1, Judson University heads back to the CCAC Tournament Championship match for the first time since 2009. Judson had a 3-0 lead before Robert Morris netted their lone goal of the game.
Scoring two goals in the first half was Mike Tobie as he put Judson up at the half. Santiago Munoz followed Tobie's lead in the second half netting two goals for the 4-0 lead. Judson is now 13-7 on the year.
Tobie started the scoring off in the 23rd minute when he was assisted by Munoz for the 1-0 lead. Just nine minutes later, Tobie netted his second goal when Martin Khoshaba found him in the box. Munoz made it 3-0 in teh 51st minute when Corey Burke pushed the ball up to him. Robert Morris cut the lead to two, 3-1, in the 69th minute on a Gordy Gurson goal but Munoz put a stamp on the game for Judson in the 88th minute with his second goal coming from a Tobie assist.
Neil Thompson stopped four shots and Robert Morris' Zack Szymel had three saves and Jose Cornejo had one save. Robert Morris out shot Judson, 16-11, and took seven corner kicks to Judson's two.
Judson will now play #2 seed Saint Xavier University for the CCAC Tournament Championship on Saturday, November 12th, at 6:00 p.m. in Chicago.
